What do The Man in Black and The King of Pop have in common? You guessed it, they have both recently released albums even though they are deceased.

Michael Jackson who died in 2009 has a new album on the market entitled Xscape. L.A. Reid the Chairman and CEO of Epic records scanned the Jackson archives spanning four decades and found 8 previously unreleased songs and added several bonus tracks and released them a couple of weeks ago. The King of Pop’s songs live on !

Johnny Cash who died in 2003 also has a new album on the market entitled Out Among The Stars. Between the years of 1980 and 1983 the man in black found himself hooked on prescription pain killers and in late 83 he finally kicked his addiction. In his new found freedom he went into the studio all during the year of 1984 and recorded the tracks found on this newly released album. But for some reason these songs were never released, until now. The Man in Black’s songs live on !

The question is; will your songs live on after your death. That may seem like a morbid thought to some, but it really is a great question. For unless the rapture happens first every one of us will go the way of all good men (death). And after we have left this earth, will the song of our life remain?

One of my favorite quotations come from Francis Chan; “Do you know that nothing you do in this life will ever matter, unless it is about loving God and loving the people He has made”. If we spend our lives Loving God, and Serving the people He made, our song will live on !
