Matthew 18:  19-20

19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.

Ministry Applications & Personal Challenge:

“In the name of Jesus” is a phrase we often we hear utilized in compliance with some kind of request or petition to God in hope that He would find favor in our request and make it happen.   We believe that because of scripture verse Matthew 18:19-20, says.

19 “Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.

What fascinates me about this verse is the agreeing part. “if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven ”   Okay God, are you saying if we agree to believe in you than anything is possible?   Wow!! The possibilities are infinite if we agree to believe.

Alter Call in our church service is a special time where a person can put into action this scripture verse and experience God at work.  We literally get to participate and receive this manifest word in full.  I love to hear a good report of what God has done because of a prayer that was done in agreement.  When we believe the Omnipotence of God, the Omnipresence of Him is reflected in our lives.  This verse tells us, He will be there with us and all we need to do is to believe that.

For me personally God had to help me believe this.   Seven years ago I had concerns about my youngest son; he was non-verbal and I was unsure if he would speak a full sentence.  I shared this concern with my sister in Christ and we sought out to pray and intercede for him.  We prayed everyday about our families and consistently asked God to open my son’s mouth.  This was done for a couple of months until we both knew that God was going to answer.  Please note that we did not see results right away, but every time we fellowshipped together, the Holy Spirit would remind us that we had agreed in prayer that God would open my son’s mouth.   Our prayer was simple we prayed and agreed that my son was a child of God and God has a purpose for him. We asked that God would open his mouth to speak so that one day he would grow to be a man that speaks for the Lord.

God has opened his mouth, in fact I laugh because he talks too much, but I rejoice because he does speak. God’s purpose was manifest in an answered prayer because two agreed to believe in God.
