Dance is movement of the soul to move souls. Your dance should be one which causes a response in the soul of others; responses which include but are not limited to joy, peace, travail, thankfulness, yearning. The ministry of dance goes far beyond having the ability to dance. It is a calling that requires you to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. It requires sensitivity and total submission to the leading of the Holy Spirit; it requires obedience.

There are several types of dance:

1) Praise

2) Worship

3) Warfare

4) Celebration

5) Travail

6) Prophetic

7) Special Occasions

Praise dance is not based on emotions or how we feel. Praise is based on a covenant between us and God. We are ordained by God to praise Him in dance. Psalm 149:3 says to praise His name with dancing, accompanied by tambourine and harp.  Praise invites the manifested presence of God. The Word tells us that God inhabits the praises of His people.

Let us challenge ourselves to praise the Lord in spite of how we’re feeling, regardless of our circumstances. Let us praise God because of who He is…nothing more…nothing less.  Take a moment to think of the goodness of God.  Sing praises to God, our King.  Praise Him with the tambourine, clapping hands, and dancing.
